I am receiving emails from people asking about my teaching schedule for academic year 2024 - 2025 so I have decided to dedicate one entire Substack post to this topic. The same listing can also be found on my website!

The good news is that my online school, Pregnant Hag Teachings, will stay open for another academic year, meaning that online classes will remain available for another year (several people expressed anxiety about access to recordings disappearing).

Some webinar series will be organised at shorter notice and fit into the “empty” months on the current calendar. Here I am referring to online sacred art retreats, more webinars covering the pre-Christian spirituality of the Low Countries and (only if there is enough interest) courses or mentoring sessions for people who do spiritual toolkit work with children.

Some answers to FAQ:

Will I organise another sacred art course in Greenland in the future? Probably not. I have no ambitions to become a tour operator. I prefer working with fiercely independent people!

Another sacred art retreat in Santa Fe (New Mexico) has been requested by students (specifically THE TEMPLE PRIESTESS AND SACRED SEXUALITY) but due to circumstances at the US end, dates won’t be announced any time soon.

My husband and I are making plans for semi-retirement and a different way of life. Please don't assume that a veritable smörgåsbord of courses (especially long-term practitioner programs) will run indefinitely. (Too many people email me and say: “I am planning to take that course in five years’ time. There is on the Now and what you see here is all I commit to delivering!)

However, I do vision myself running some stand-alone courses years into the future. In Sweden I may well alternate between Seidr courses and Forest Witch Retreats, but only time will tell what family commitments, health and unforeseen circumstances will allow.

If you would like to host me and bring a course to your location, email me and we can explore. (I do not self-fund guest appearances in other countries or even cities. My time and expertise require proper compensation! I get those types of invitations at regular intervals, believe it or not!)

However, once the current cohort progresses into highly advanced modules (in 2026), this option closes. Some people are mixing modules in Wisconsin with attending modules in Sweden. (The modules in the US run at a delay compared to Sweden).

Exact dates have not yet been set but I am planning to offer more on-line classes in the Pre-Christian Spirituality of the Low Countries (as the previous classes were received with great enthusiasm!)

These webinars present an experiential deep(er) dive into some of the material presented in my book: North Sea Water In My Veins (2022). My vision is that this will bring together people (in various locations, such as the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium) and that collectively we start building a record of our work with (and direct revelation received from) ancient deities and other beings (such as the Witte Wieven and the Matronae) our ancestors venerated! People with with Germanic/Northern European ancestry from overseas will be welcome too, obviously!

Earlier this year I announced and organised a sacred art retreat in London, titled “DANCING THE BEAR” but for some members of the core group this was too close to the Greenland expedition so I moved this retreat to December 2025 instead!

My plan is to open registration for 6 weeks in February - March 2025. Years of organising courses has taught me that I can predict attendance very accurately by how many people sign up within 6 weeks of me opening registration. If I do not receive a deposit from the minimum number of participants during that period, I will cancel this course.

I don’t spend much time in London any longer. If I do not have enough participants for a course in London, I would prefer to be in Sweden.

I would also like to take this opportunity to share (publicly) that my husband and I are making plans for retirement and a completely different way of life. It is best not to assume that a smörgåsbord of sacred courses will run indefinitely.

A (POSSIBLE) FOREST WITCH COURSE OR RETREAT IN SWEDEN

I am seriously considering offering a stand-alone Forest Witch course, also in Sweden. A four or five-day retreat where we drop deeply into the life and learning of a Forest Witch: meeting allies, spending a lot of time in the forest, making spiritual tools from bones and other found objects. Learning from local trees and plant spirits. Sitting out on a grave mound and by petroglyphs. Visiting standing stones and so forth.

This is what is known for now, I might send out an updated version in early 2025!

I try (but sometimes fail) to get out one essay a week, due to travel, international teaching commitments and family care responsibilities (our family lives with Alzheimer’s and I have written several posts about that). BIO FOR IMELDA ALMQVIST

Imelda Almqvist is an international teacher of Sacred Art and Seiðr/Old Norse Traditions (the ancestral wisdom teachings of Northern Europe). So far she has written four non-fiction books and two picture books for children. Natural Born Shamans: A Spiritual Toolkit for Life (Using shamanism creatively with young people of all ages) in 2016, Sacred Art: A Hollow Bone for Spirit (Where Art Meets Shamanism) in 2019, Medicine of the Imagination - Dwelling in Possibility (an impassioned plea for fearless imagination) in 2020 and North Sea Water In My Veins (The Pre-Christian spirituality of the Low Countries) was published in June 2022.

The Green Bear is a series of picture book for children, aged 3 – 8 years. The stories and vibrant artwork, set in Scandinavia, invite children to explore enchanting parallel worlds and to keep their sense of magic alive as they grow up.

Imelda has presented her work on both The Shift Network and Sounds True. She appears in a TV program, titled Ice Age Shaman, made for the Smithsonian Museum, in the series Mystic Britain, talking about Mesolithic arctic deer shamanism.

Imelda is currently working on a handbook for rune magicians (about the runes of the Elder Futhark) and on more books in the Green Bear Series. Imelda runs an on-line school called Pregnant Hag Teachings, where all classes she teaches remain available as recordings, which can be watched any time.
